Announcing the 2019 Dolores J. Brown Staff Awardee

Dany Thorpe, program coordinator for Harvard Catalyst’s Program in Diversity Inclusion, is the recipient of this year’s award.

Congratulations to our own Dany Thorpe, program coordinator for the Harvard Catalyst Program in Diversity Inclusion, who is the recipient of the 2019 Dolores J. Brown Staff Award.

This award was established by the Brown family in 2002 to honor the memory of Dolores J. Brown and to commemorate her contributions to the School. Brown worked as the assistant to Daniel C. Tosteson, HMS dean from 1985 to 1997, and dean emeritus from 1997 to 2000. This award pays tribute to an exceptional staff member at Harvard Medical School or Harvard School of Dental Medicine who exemplifies the spirit and commitment that Brown demonstrated in her work at the School.

Specifically, the Award recognizes a staff member who has a record of outstanding service to his or her position, colleagues and the School, demonstrates respect for HMS and its mission, and helps to create a welcoming, friendly and inclusive work environment

Thorpe embodies all of these qualities and is a consummate colleague. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to Harvard Catalyst and Harvard Medical School.
