NIH Announces Winners of S-index Challenge
Harvard-affiliated teams are awarded prizes to advance data sharing across biomedical research.
This past July, the NIH awarded a $1million prize to incentivize data sharing. Two of the three winning teams were led by Harvard faculty, with second place awarded to a team led by Shuhan He, MD, and third place awarded to a team led by Griffin Weber, MD, PhD. Weber is associate professor of medicine and biomedical informatics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and HMS, and faculty lead for Harvard Catalyst Informatics.
This award emphasizes the importance of open science, data sharing, and collaboration, which are core values of Harvard Catalyst’s mission. To this end, we help investigators find, access, reuse, and share biomedical data and utilize other research resources.
