Core Competency Framework
Utilizing our experience as well as input from faculty experts and professional educators/instructional designers, we created the Scientific Communication Competencies for the Research Team framework to describe the skills and knowledge that clinical and translational research teams need to communicate successfully. The framework is made up of five broad categories called competency domains:
- Write Effectively
- Get Funded
- Deliver Authentically
- Visualize Science
- Grow Professionally
Within each domain of the framework there are competency statements, or lists of the knowledge and skills that clinical and translational research teams need to communicate effectively. By exploring the competency framework and leveraging our resources across these domains, you can identify strengths and areas in need of growth and create your own curricular pathway.
