Overview

Harvard Catalyst bioinformatics consultations, training, workshops, and educational programs are supported through the Harvard Chan Bioinformatics Core at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Bioinformatics consultants possess strong expertise that includes data management, analysis, and dissemination of high-throughput biomedical data. They also provide guidance in the areas of microarrays, next-generation sequencing, and functional evaluation of generated high-throughput data. In addition, Harvard Catalyst supports workshops and courses on different bioinformatics topics, including next generation sequencing data analysis.

Bioinformatics consulting services offered by Harvard Catalyst focus on the early stages of research project development. These services include:

  • Study design for next-generation sequencing projects/feasibility consultation
  • Bioinformatics analysis planning (next-generation sequencing based technologies including bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-seq, Exome/WG-Sequencing, bisulfite and array based DNA methylation analysis, etc.)
  • Assistance with bioinformatics aspects of grant submission/resubmission
  • Training advice for involved researchers/education on a bioinformatics topic
  • Assistance with response to a manuscript/journal reviewer’s questions about bioinformatics
