This framework, in the shape of a wheel, is designed to help clinical and translational research teams communicate successfully. It is made up of five broad categories called competency domains. The wheel shows each of the competency domains broken out into individual pieces of the wheel. Domain one is Get Funded, domain two is Write Effectively, domain three is Deliver Authentically, domain four is Visualize Science, and domain five is Grow Professionally. In the middle of the wheel, is a circle that says “Cross-Cutting Competences. Define your communication goals, know your audience, practice cultural awareness, tell a story, and invite feedback.” This circle represents that the cross-cutting competences span all five domains.
