Seminar: BWH Oncology Series

We decided to hold BWH Oncology Seminar Series on Zoom during this challenging time to adjust our lives not to spread COVID-19. Dr. Lee Zou will be the presenter for next Oncology Seminar.

Dr. Lee Zou is a professor of pathology at Harvard Medical School and associate scientific director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. He is also the Jim & Ann Orr Research Scholar, and the James & Patricia Poitras Endowed Chair in Cancer Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Zou obtained his PhD training from Dr. Bruce Stillman at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and his postdoctoral training from Dr. Steve Elledge at Baylor College of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. His research is focused on understanding how DNA damage and DNA replication problems are detected by the ATM and ATR checkpoint pathways in human cells. Work by Dr. Zou and his colleagues has elucidated the key DNA damage sensors and DNA structures that activate the ATR checkpoint, and provided new strategies for targeted cancer therapy.
