Online course: Fundamentals of Clinical and Translational Research (FaCToR)

This introductory, online course covers the concepts and spectrum of clinical and translational (c/t) research from first-in-human studies to healthcare interventions implemented on a population level.

Course participants will learn the research methods used across the spectrum of c/t research, including: designing rigorous research studies, selecting appropriate tools for data acquisition and storage, identifying and addressing ethical issues, operating within regulatory frameworks, communicating your findings to colleagues and leaders in the field, and funding your research.

Participants will engage with colleagues, teaching fellows, and faculty through online discussion and other media.

Eligibility:

  • MPH, MD, PhD, DMD, or equivalent.
  • Biomedical scientists, researchers, and MDs outside of Harvard are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Time commitment:

  • 3-5 hours per week.

Fee:

  • Free for Harvard-affiliated institutions
  • CTSA Member: $375.00
  • Non-CTSA Member: $500.00
