Grand Rounds: Understanding the Role of Naturopathic Doctors in Integrative Medicine – An Oncology Case Study – December 3

Lindsay Rockwell, DO, and Amy Rothenberg, ND, will discuss the case of a shared oncology patient as an example of synergistic collaboration between newly licensed naturopathic doctors and conventional medicine providers. The patient will describe their experience of the care received. Rothenberg will also describe the naturopathic profession and its licensure and scope of practice in Massachusetts.

Naturopathic doctors have extensive training in therapeutic nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle modification and body/mind approaches and can play a supportive role alongside state-of-the-art oncology care. The goal of such collaboration between multi-disciplinary healthcare providers in oncology, as in medicine overall, is to best support optimal health and wellbeing– physically, mentally, and emotionally.
