Grand rounds: Nutrition Competencies – June 3

David Eisenberg, MD, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, will discuss the future of nutrition education for physicians and other health professionals. He will draw on (1) his experiences in the 1970’s and 1980’s while in medical school, while serving as the first U.S. Medical Exchange Student to the People’s Republic of China, and during his residency and fellowship training; (2) his launch and more than 20 year oversight of the annual “Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives” conferences; (3) his establishment and prior leadership of the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative; and (4) his recent research relating to the publication, “Proposed Nutrition Competencies for Medical Students and Physician Trainees- A Consensus Statement” published in JAMA Network Open in September, 2024.
