Join us for IMPACT Grand Rounds on April 18 with Dr. Clive Ballard who will be presenting on the “WHELD programme.”

Clive Ballard, MD, PhD, is professor of age-related diseases at the University of Exeter in the U.K., where he was also dean of medicine and pro-vice chancellor between 2016 and 2023. He was previously professor of age-related diseases and director of the Dementia Research Unit at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London. He has published more than 800 research papers, with more than 100,000 citations and has led more than 40 clinical trials. His major contributions include clinical trials demonstrating the harms of antipsychotic medications in people with dementia, innovating the treatment of psychosis and other neuropsychiatric symptoms in people with dementia and Parkinson’s disease, the treatment and care of people with dementia living in nursing homes, Delphi consensus and clinical trials of re-purposed treatments for people with Alzheimer’s disease and developing the PROTECT digital cohort and clinical trial platform which has recruited more than 100,000 people for clinical brain health research.
