Biostatistics Journal Club: Statistical Experimental Design for Endogenous Rhythm Estimation
Maintaining healthy biological rhythms and sleep is important as disruptions can lead to severe health problems. Accurate estimation of biological rhythm parameters is essential in chronobiology and sleep research. But under a typical 24-hour day conditions, endogenous circadian rhythms cannot be separated from the confounding effects of external factors such as sleep-wake cycles, light-dark exposure, or activity patterns. In this talk, Wei Wang, PhD, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, will discuss experimental protocols designed to measure endogenous circadian rhythms while minimizing these confounding factors.
