Seward Rutkove, MD

KL2/Catalyst Medical Research Investigator Training

Seward Rutkove is co-director of the KL2/Catalyst Medical Research Investigator Training Program for Harvard Catalyst. He is professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School and serves as the Nancy Lurie Marks Chair of the Department of Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Rutkove’s research focuses on the application of innovative techniques for the assessment and therapy of neuromuscular disorders ranging from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis to muscle atrophy and weakness related illness and spaceflight. Rutkove is also a co-founder of Myolex, Inc, and Haystack Diagnostics, two Boston-based start-up companies commercializing electrophysiological assessment of muscle for clinical care and consumer use. Rutkove received his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons and his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
