Headshot of Maurizio Fava

Maurizio Fava, MD

Associate Dean, Clinical and
Translational Research

Maurizio Fava is associate dean for clinical and translational research at Harvard Medical School. He is psychiatrist-in-chief in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), vice chair of the Executive Committee on Research (ECOR) at the Massachusetts General Research Institute, and director of the Division of Clinical Research at the Massachusetts General Research Institute. He is also executive director of the Clinical Trials Network & Institute, and the Slater Family Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Previously, he founded and directed the MGH Depression Clinical and Research Program (DCRP). Under his direction, DCRP became one of the most highly regarded depression programs in the country, a model for academic programs that link, in a bi-directional fashion, clinical and research work. Fava obtained his MD from the University of Padova School of Medicine, where he completed residency training in endocrinology. Additionally, he completed residency training in psychiatry at MGH.
