Application Process & Deadlines

All applications to the KL2 MeRIT program must consist of the following:

  • Completed data form
  • PHS 398 Face Page signed by authorized institutional official
  • Statement of intent describing research areas of interest, previous research experience, summary of relevant educational activities, description of proposed research project, reasons for selecting mentor(s), short and long term goals, and relevance of the MeRIT program to those goals
  • Your current NIH Biosketch (new format)
  • Mentor's NIH Biosketch (new format)
  • Signed letter of support (.PDF format) from your department chair/division chief, guaranteeing 75 percent protected time to pursue the educational and research goals of the program
  • Signed letter of recommendation (.PDF format) from your primary mentor, guaranteeing that the remaining 25 percent (that not provided by Harvard Catalyst) will come from non-federal funds
  • Optional additional letter of recommendation (.PDF format) from a secondary mentor

Please note: Proof of citizenship will be requested at a later date and interviews may be required in the summer of 2012.

Deadline and Notification

The deadline for applications is June 22, 2012, at 5pm.
