- A CLIA-certified core analytical laboratory
| State-of-the-art, high-quality research assays at reduced cost for Harvard researchers. | Harvard Catalyst Central Laboratory (HCCL) |
The Harvard Catalyst Central Laboratory (HCCL) is a CLIA-certified laboratory providing Harvard Catalyst investigators with state-of-the-art, high-quality research assays at reduced costs. The HCCL is a unified core analytical laboratory, replacing the individual core laboratories of the five former Harvard-affiliated General Clinical Research Centers (GCRCs). Consolidation of these laboratories' functions into a central core laboratory has encouraged efficient use of resources while decreasing costs to Harvard Catalyst Clinical Research Center (HCCRC) investigators. In addition, the HCCL provides the administrative structure, customer service architecture, and institutional support necessary in such facilities.
The technologies and services available through HCCL complement those of the Harvard Catalyst Laboratory for Innovative Translational Technologies (LITT), a separate center that helps give academic investigators early access emerging technologies from industry.
Harvard Catalyst investigators who use the HCCL are only responsible for supporting the per-sample cost of purchasing kits. All other expenses (e.g., space, equipment, personnel, service contracts, general supplies) are supported directly by Harvard Catalyst. For a schedule of current assay fees and the full complement of HCCL policies and procedures, please visit the HCCL home page. Non-Harvard Catalyst investigators (i.e., investigators from institutions not affiliated with Harvard who are engaged in multicenter studies in collaboration with Harvard-affiliated researchers) may apply to use the laboratory under Tier B or Tier C pricing schedules.
To request HCCL services, please fill out an HCCRC Resource Request Form.
