The Harvard Catalyst Colloquium Series, a major event of Harvard Catalyst, has educated and inspired clinical and translational scientists, from fellows and students to junior and senior investigators. To date, the colloquium series has featured nineteen presentations on state-of-the-art advances in clinical and translational research; highlighted the application of core principles in clinical and translational research; augmented existing courses on clinical and translational research; promoted networking, collaboration, and integration among trainees and faculty; and fostered access to Harvard Catalyst throughout the university.
Presentations have been organized around seven main topic areas:
By rotating sites and holding sessions in the major Harvard academic health centers, as well as at Harvard Medical School, the series has offered a novel approach and opportunity to the Harvard community. Individuals from all of the Harvard affiliates have attended. Of the more than 1,400 total participants, one-third have been trainees, about 10 percent have been junior faculty, and about one-third have been senior faculty. The quality of the presentations has been high; more than 90 percent of participants have indicated that they were either satisfied or very satisfied with the lecture they attended.

Archived recordings of the presentations and associated background readings and discussion questions will soon be available. These materials provide potential building blocks for a longitudinal curriculum in clinical and translational research for any student, trainee, or faculty member at Harvard with eCommons access.
Stay tuned for future symposia formats following in the Colloquium Series' experience.
