Supporting the ethical design & conduct of clinical and translational research. Ethics Program in Clinical & Translational Research

Program Services

  • Research Ethics Consulting Service

    • The Research Ethics Consultation Service provides expert advice to investigators and others who confront ethical challenges in the design or conduct of clinical and translational research. Consultation is available to investigators developing grant applications or protocols, as well as to investigators, institutional officials and research staff who encounter ethical questions in the course of ongoing research.

The Ethics Program in Clinical and Translational Research (EPiCTR) assists clinical and translational (C/T) investigators, along with institutional representatives responsible for overseeing clinical and translational research, in clarifying and addressing ethical challenges that arise when designing or conducting research.

Specifically, the EPiCTR:

  • Offers consultation to Harvard-affiliated investigators, staff, and institutional officials regarding ethical challenges in C/T research
  • Offers education to trainees, faculty, and staff regarding the ethics of C/T research
  • Provides a forum for the development of novel research related to C/T research ethics
