The Howard, Dorsey, Still Lecture is named for the first three African Americans to graduate from Harvard Medical School, Edwin Howard (HMS 1869), Thomas Dorsey (HMS 1869), and James Still (HMS 1871), and recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing the nation’s health.

2009 Diversity Awards

The Diversity Awards were established to recognize faculty and staff of HMS and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine who have made significant achievements in moving HMS/HSDM toward being a diverse and inclusive community.

The Harold Amos Faculty Diversity Award

*The Bray Room is located on the 1st floor of the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School. The Conference Center is a large glass building located directly across the street from the Boston Latin School. Public Transportation is highly recommended. Take the Green Line D train or the Green Line E train to “Longwood” station. Then walk down Longwood Avenue several blocks and turn down Avenue Louis Pasteur.
