  1. Colloquium SeriesThe Harvard Catalyst Colloquium Series has provided an important forum for scientific and educational exchange at the cutting edge of clinical and translational research.
  2. Conferences and SeminarsFind seminars, colloquia, nano-courses, lectures, conferences and grand rounds. Many of these events can be taken for CME credit.
  3. Dean's SymposiumA two-day event bringing the Harvard community together to celebrate clinical and translational research.
  4. Leder Human BiologyThe Leder Human Biology Program provides PhD students with the fundamentals of human biology and disease, through a series of courses that broaden their training and research interests. It demystifies the culture and practice of medicine, facilitating future collaborations with clinicians and physician-scientists, by bringing students into direct contact with physicians, patients, medical students, and physician-scientists.
  5. Biomedical Informatics TrainingThe Biomedical Informatics Research Training Program (BIRT) is a consortium of laboratories at Harvard, MIT, Boston University, and Tufts Medical Center. BIRT enables individuals with different backgrounds to acquire a level of knowledge and skills in competency areas necessary for biomedical informatics research.
  6. Biostatistics TrainingThe HSPH Biostatistics department offers training in statistical theory and a variety of methods commonly used in the field of biostatistics including probability, statistical inference, statistical methods, linear and logistic regression, survival analysis, longitudinal analysis, clinical trials, statistical genetics, computational biology, health decision sciences, and related areas.
  7. Clinical Investigator Training ProgramThe Clinical Investigator Training Program trains physicians from a variety of clinical disciplines in the techniques and processes utilized in patient-oriented research. The program prepares graduates to follow a career path as clinical scientists who are skilled bedside clinicians, recognizing problems at the bedside and possessing the technical skill and knowledge to solve these problems at the bench.
  8. Scholars in Clinical ScienceThe goal of the Scholars in Clinical Science Program is to provide superior, coordinated didactic and practical training for individuals interested in careers in translational investigation (human physiology, pathophysiology, and genetics), human pharmacology, and clinical trials.
  9. KL2 Medical Research Investigator TrainingThe KL2 MeRIT program provides eligible junior faculty from across Harvard Catalyst with support to pursue rigorous training in clinical and translational research, which will foster the development of their independent research careers. The program offers advanced training in clinical and translational research to junior faculty from all of the health professions that are represented in Harvard Catalyst, including medicine, dentistry, and nursing.
  10. Introduction to Clinical InvestigationIntroduction to Clinical Investigation is a five-day course designed to give fellows and junior faculty a solid foundation in the principles and methods of clinical investigation. This course is also a gateway to additional specialized training, mentoring, and consultative opportunities for clinical investigators available through Harvard Catalyst.
  11. Biostatistics Seminar SeriesA series of talks presented by the Harvard Catalyst Biostatistical Science Program based on recent advances in biostatistics, but with a focus on translation of those ideas to biostatistical practice.
  12. Genetics CoursesThe Harvard Catalyst Genetics Consortium offers courses in genetics that are open to all members of the greater Harvard community. These courses cover both general and specialized topics in translational genetics and are designed to better acquaint clinicians and scientists with the tools and technologies available in this important field.
  13. Imaging CoursesThese courses are offered through the Harvard Department of Continuing Education whose mission is to optimize patient care. To this end, these programs in radiology/imaging are designed to provide the most up-to-date information and strategies for physicians and allied health professionals.

Harvard Catalyst Colloquium Series Summer Talks

The Harvard Catalyst Colloquium Series - a weekly forum for scientific and educational exchange at the cutting edge of research - moves into its summer session with talks on research ethics, mentor/mentee relationships, and the research cycle between bench and bedside. The series has also added a new category of talks focused on Health Disparities; John Ayanian, M.D., director of the Harvard Catalyst Health Disparities Research Program, will give the inaugural disparities talk on June 8.

The series continues through July and will pause in August, retuning to its regular Monday schedule after Labor Day. For more on the series, including the schedule of speakers and CME information, visit the Colloquium Series web page.
