Logos and Identity Management

To maintain the Harvard Catalyst brand across Harvard University and in the public view, the following standards for logo use and identity management should be adhered to when producing materials promoting Harvard Catalyst and its programs and services.

Use of name

The official full name of this center is Harvard Catalyst | The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center, with a pipe ('|') character between "Catalyst" and "The." The pipe character is accessed with a Shift \ keystroke on a standard computer keyboard, and is not the same as an uppercase 'i' ('I') or lowercase 'L' ('l').

First Reference

First reference in print or electronic form (including brochures, slides, posters, websites, newsletters, etc.) to Harvard Catalyst should use the official full name or "The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center, also known as Harvard Catalyst," or a derivative thereof. "Harvard Catalyst" alone is an acceptable first reference on a printed flyer or poster as long as the Harvard Catalyst logo is also present.

Subsequent References

On subsequent references, "Harvard Catalyst," "the Harvard CTSC," or "the CTSC" are acceptable based on context.

Based on the recommendations of the Harvard University Trademark Office, references to "Catalyst" or "the Catalyst" are unacceptable.

Logo

There are four approved styles of the Harvard Catalyst logo.

Logos and Identity Management

DO NOT copy and paste (or "scrape") any version of the logo from this website for use in other materials.

Low- (web-friendly) and high-resolution (print-friendly) versions of these logos are available upon request; requests should be submitted to the Harvard Catalyst Communications Manager.

The logo may not be distorted or cropped, nor should it be obscured by other text or graphics. The words "The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center" must always remain as part of the logo. The logo is to be used with either the black or white background. It is not to be made transparent for use with any other color background.

Logos and Identity Management

The only exception to the cropping rule is that the logo mark (line-and-dot) component of the logo may be used alone, without any wording, as a watermark on slides or print materials, as long as a full version of the logo is simultaneously present.
